Students’ Recognition

College prizes

Vivekananda College awards 7(seven) Prizes to the Toppers in different Faculties of the College. Thus, three prizes each of Rs. 1000/- value and three prizes each of Rs. 500/- value are awarded to the Toppers in Honours and General Courses- Arts, Science and Commerce and one prize of Rs.750/- value is awarded to the Topper in B.Com Vocational course respectively. A certificate of Merit is also given to each of the Toppers.

The Teachers' Council prizes
The Teachers' Council of the College awards prizes to the students who are the ToppersinHonours Courses in different subjects.

Departmental Prizes
Department of Biological Science (Zoology & Botany)

A) K.S. Rao Memorial prize is awarded every year to the students of this College securing highest marks in Zoology(Hons) and Botany(Hons) and B.Sc. (Bio) General.

B) 'Debashis Kar Memorial Fund' has been donated by Smt. Manashi Kar in the memory of her late son, Debashis Kar, an ex-student who passed B.Sc. (Bio-Science) Examination in 2003 from Vivekananda College.

Out of this Fund : a) Debashis Kar Memorial prizes are awarded to the 1st & 2nd position holders of Zoology (Hons) & Botany (Hons) and B.Sc. (B io) General in every year .

Department of Mathematics
A) Principal G. D. Banerjee Memorial Prize is awarded to the best student in Mathematics of the College every year.
B) Krishna Mukherjee Memorial Prize is awarded to the students stand 1st and 2nd in Mathematics (Hons.) of the College every year.

Department of Chemistry
A)Dr. Debesh Chandra Mukherjee Memorial Prize, is awarded to the best student in Chemistry (Hons.) of the College every year.
B)Dr. Motilal Nath award, is presented to the student who secured 2nd position in Chemistry (Hons.) of the College every year.

Department of Environmental Science
The Environment Award is presented to the student who secures highest marks in University examination every year and one student who is selected for the best all round performances.

Department of Botany
Bhagabati Devi Memorial Prize is awarded to the students stand 1st in Botany (hons.) and 1st in B.Sc. (Bio) General of the College.

Department of Computer Science
Smt. Sandhya Baital Award is presented to the students stand 1st in Part I, Part II & Part III, of the College. This award is also given to the outstanding student of the final year .
