Department of Bengali

Bengali Department is one of the oldest and largest departments of the college, that was incepted with establishment of the degree college in 1953.

The Bengali Department has very learned, experienced and efficient faculty members to teach students and provide them all round education. The Department has about 750 students in general course and 225 students in honours course every year and a number of students come out with good results. The Department conducts post graduate regular degree course from 2016 in affiliation with University of Calcutta. Every year 100 students study in post graduate course. After successfully completing their post graduate course, many of them qualified different National level competitive examinations such as NET/SET/SSC etc. some students engage themselves in acquiring doctoral degree. Many renowned and eminent Professors from other institutions are invited to provide quality education . The Department also organises seminars and meetings regularly. Renowned personalities from academia and literature are invited to deliver lectures on such occasions. The Department organised educational excursion every year for the extensive educational experience. The departmental students are engaged in arranging or participating different activities of the department and the college throughout the year.
