Shyamali Sarkar has been working as an assistant professor in History since 2008. She received her M.Phil. degree from Jadavpur University in 2003. Before her current position, she worked as a researcher in The Asiatic Society, Kolkata, focusing on gender studies and the social history of the tribal people of North Bengal.
