Dr. Kuntal Narayan Chaudhuri teaches botany at Vivekananda College, Kolkata. He graduated from Presidency College, Kolkata, and received his Ph.D. from the University of Calcutta. He was CSIR (NET)Junior Research Fellow at the University of Calcutta, and IFCPAR Indo-French Fellow at INRA, Versailles, France. His has supervised several PG dissertations of MSc Environmental Science students of Vidyasagar University, Directorate of Distance Education. He has completed a UGC-sponsored Minor Research Project. His research interests include plant tissue culture, plant diversity, ethnobotany, and ethnoecology. He has presented his research at national and international seminars and conferences, and published 38 original papers, reviews papers and popular articles, including in national and international journals and edited volumes. His other interests includes photography, art and music.
